Snickers Marathon® Story
We at Masterfoods USA realized that most active, healthy people can benefit from sustained energy and extra nutrients. We also recognized that people have all different lifestyles and dietary needs. So, we decided to bring together our knowledge of nutritional technology, an understanding of the varied needs of active Americans, and our long-standing expertise in making great-tasting snack foods to develop a new product: SNICKERS MARATHON® Brand Energy Bars.
A History of Delivering Fuel
We at Masterfoods USA, the makers of SNICKERS® Bar, have understood energy since long before the first energy bar existed. For almost 70 years, consumers around the world have satisfied their hunger and re-energized with SNICKERS® Bars. Here are just a few examples:
Brian Robinson — The first person to hike America's "Triple Crown" of U.S. National Scenic Trails within a single calendar year. He consumed three SNICKERS® Bars a day.
Randall McDaniel — Defensive end for the Minnesota Vikings. He ate three SNICKERS® for breakfast on game days and led the NFL in sacks one season.

A New Challenge
Over the years, our Masterfoods USA team has become increasingly interested in understanding the energy needs of people whose daily experiences demand high levels of energy. We recognized that there were many Americans who expend as much energy in the course of their day as world-class athletes do running marathons.
After much research and development, we created a product intended to combine high performance and the great taste of SNICKERS® Brand, as well as accommodate all types of lifestyles. The result: SNICKERS MARATHON® Brand Energy Bars.
